End of Life Vehicles (ELV)
Every year, end of life vehicles generate between 8 and 9 million tonnes of waste in the Community which should be managed correctly. The parliament of the European Union was issue ‘end-of-life vehicle directive, (ELV) to reduce the use of Hexavalent chrom (Cr (VI), Mercury, Lead and Cadmium by July 1, 2003 to stop using chromating film on zinc plating with in July 1, 2007 and control the level of Cr6+ contain less than 0.1% weight per weight of component.
